First...

So incredibly sorry that I have not posted about Chloe's newest accomplishments. It has to do with being busy being a mom, a cold room where the computer is, and just plain laziness.

So on the 16Th, Chloe had her first tooth break the skin! It is coming in ever so slowly I think, but it is good because she needs to figure out how to handle it. She likes to bite while nursing - if I let out a shriek, it doesn't do anything, she just smiles at me and looks really cute.

The day before she started to sit up all by herself. She is really good at it now!

The day after she got her tooth, she rolled over 2 times for me, yet has not done it since. But we are still trying.

Chloe has also found her feet. She is especially fond of her left one. I am wondering if she is going to be a lefty like my dad and sis. Only time will tell.

I promise to let you know when she has other firsts a little sooner.

Wonderful neighbor!

When I first read the sign posted on our neighbor's door I had a few mixed emotions.
1. I felt bad that she had to post this sign
2. I felt scared for myself and the building that she posted this sign
3. I felt sorry for the delivery guys who have to read this when they drop off packages or mail
4. I felt lied to when she put this up here because the day before she told me that she only had 1 package stolen from her door step. What a liar!
5. I felt a bit of rage toward her because now all of the stupid local creeps will be watching our doors even closer now. Thanks!
6. I felt like laughing. This lady claims that she is "watching" everyone. Truth is she is gone Tuesday through Thursday up in Sacramento. and she is gone all day the other days of the week. So really she is not watching.
Oh and another thing my neighbor does that I just have to laugh at, especially after reading her letter, is the fact that she leaves the top down on her convertible car on the main street with STUFF IN IT!
Sorry but I can't feel sorry for her. She does these things to herself. I informed her that I use the post office when getting packages, they take them back to the post office if you are not home. Oh and she could also get a PO box, but that might be too much work. It is much easier to leave a somewhat threatening letter on your door.

Winter Gala

The evening started off with another session of rock band. This time we were not booted off the stage! Brett did drums, I did vocals, and Cliff played the guitar. This is a really fun activity.

So we got all dressed up for the big dance / gala. It was a 007 James Bond theme. Some of the guys dressed up in tuxes, but the majority of the guys just wore suits. The girls dressed up anywhere from cocktail dresses to prom dresses, and one girl even showed up in a leather jump suit! Totally fit the theme.

We went out to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant near Napa. Brett and I discovered that we like white wine. It isn't so bad.

We took a charter bus to the event site that was held over in San Francisco, it was a long drive, but it was neat to see the city going over the golden gate bridge. When we got to the gala, we were given free chips to gamble with. I didn't do any gambling, mostly because I don't know how to play any of the table games. I am more of a slots girl. But Brett did very well at the craps table. At the end of the night, he had the most money at the table and got his name taken down for a drawing. We haven't heard of any results yet. But he was pretty happy about winning so much money. Now he wants to go to Vegas.

We had a wonderful night of eating good kosher food, drinks, dancing, gambling, and hanging out with some good friends. It was a much needed get away.

Just in case you were wondering what we did with Chloe, we left her at the neighbors house. The kids really really like her. And I guess she did pretty well over there, no crying or fussing when she found out that I wasn't there. That made me happy.

More of Chloe

I thought I should post some more pics of Chloe on here. I guess it has been a while.

She loves floor time now that I put a mirror up for her to look into. She gets so excited to see the other baby in it.

Another trip to the Farmers Market. It was a really nice and sunny day that day. but still kind of cold out. She loved to wear her sun glasses and hat!

It's happening again

Back in 1988

"Ok Krissy sit down so I can teach you your lessons"
"But I wanna play barbies!"
"NO, it is lesson time!"
"But I don't want to learn"
"That doesn't matter...now repeat after me..."

and so that would play out almost daily with Tracy and I. She would learn something new at school and I would be forced to learn it as well. Looking back now, it was probably a good learning tool for Tracy, but all I wanted to do was play with my barbies or baby dolls.

Today 2008

"so what did you learn in school today?"
"oh not much, just about the cardiovascular and pulmonary system"
"oh ok, sounds neat"
"Oh want me to show you some neat stuff?"
"Sure! (thinking I was going to see some neat pictures or have a short 2 minute conversation)"
"Well here is the heart and........"

So about an hour goes by and I have learned so much about our pulmonary system that I could probably walk into Brett's class and understand what they are talking about in lecture.

I sit and smile during the entire "lesson" given to me by my husband thinking of all those lectures I was forced to listen to way back in the day with my sister. Only now I know it helps Brett study when he can relay the information to me. And it is so neat to see him get excited about all of it.

Sleep...What's that?

Lately Chloe has been on a very weird sleeping pattern.

Wake up: 10 am
1st nap: noon (1-2 hours)
2nd nap: 4pm (1 hour)
3rd nap: 7pm (20 minutes)
won't go to sleep until midnight

The other night I was tired of this schedule, so I laid down with her at 10:30 pm saying it was time for bed. I did our bedtime routine and let her sleep in my bed which she loves to do. Well the plan didn't work out so well. She cried the entire time until (I an not kidding you) 11:55pm. Then she was out cold until....1:25 when she woke up crying, then again at 3:00....then again at 4:30....then again at 6:00.....then again at 8:37 and finally got up for the day at 10:35am.

And this pattern has been going on for 2 weeks now! It doesn't matter what I do during the day or night. I was telling my sister that she has regressed! A few months ago I was boasting about how all I had to do was lay her in her bed and she would fall asleep on her own and stay down for 5-7 hours at a time. I feel like I have a new born again.

Oh and she only falls asleep if I put my sheet and comforter over her. Her own blankets don't do her justice. So with this in mind, I really don't know what sleep is anymore. Naps, yeah I know that word and feeling, but anything more than a 2 hour nap just goes right over my head.

This is why I haven't been posting much lately either. Right now Brett is occupying her so I can have some "alone time".

Rock Band

Brett joined a rock band with fellow med students this last weekend. Ok well they aren't going to go on tour or even leave the living room for that matter. I don't know if you have heard of guitar hero or not, but this is very similar to it, but it involves a whole band. There is a drummer, a Bass player, a guitarist and someone on vocals. They all have to hit the marks for the music otherwise the band will get booed off stage. We discovered that Brett and I should NEVER play an instrument. Brett can't keep a beat and I lose track of where my fingers should be. None the less it was very fun.
